Local company contracted to conduct two healthcare projects

Ministry of Health has contracted a local company to conduct two healthcare projects.

The projects include establishing a dialysis centre in Fuvahmulah City for a cost of USD 136,341 and the renovation of the health centre in Landhoo in Noonu Atoll for a cost of over USD 32,000.

Speaking to the media after signing the contracts, Minister of Health Abdulla Ameen said a dialysis centre in much needed for the people living in Fuvahmulah City and added the newly established centre would benefit the patients attaining medical care for kidney diseases.

Speaking on the renovation of the health centre in Landhoo, the health minister noted the facility was badly damaged in a recent fire and also needs adequate changes to the building to introduce laboratory services.

Minister Ameen assured the administration will conduct all the projects earmarked for the health sector in the state budget, which includes the construction of hospitals, renovation of healthcare facilities and purchasing healthcare equipment.

The dialysis centre in Fuvahmulah City must be established in 85 days and the renovation of the health centre in Landhoo must be completed in 25 days, according to the agreement signed.
