Acting Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment Ali Waheed has revealed all the pledges to be completed, as part of the first 100-day pledge policy of the administration, have been achieved.
The last pledges to be completed were appointing sports councillors in all inhabited islands and auditing all sports associations. However, Ali Waheed, who is also the Minister of Tourism, noted the youth ministry faced obstacles in establishing an indoor swimming pool in Male’. The minister explained the land plot allocated to establish the swimming pool was owned by another party and several issues have risen on the ownership of the land plot. In this regard, Ali Waheed expressed there is a possibility the swimming pool may not be established until the issue is resolved.
Furthermore, the minister advised all sports councillors to unite the communities and work towards a common goal.
