Minister of Higher Education Dr. Ibrahim Hassan has highlighted the importance of financial literacy for students within the educational system. The higher education minister made the remarks after inaugurating the Global Money Week, organised by Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA).
Noting financial literacy is considered an important aspect in the lives of students and youth, the minister expressed hope that students learn basic knowledge in managing money at an early age, through Global Money Week. He said it is a responsibility of every one to be protective of their spending to contribute to the growth of the country.
Global Money Week is a global money awareness celebration that takes place in March every year.
