Discussions have been held regarding the arenas where India can further assist Maldives. The discussions took place as part of the meeting held between Speaker of Maldivian Parliament Qasim Ibrahim and Indian Ambassador to Maldives Sanjay Sudhir.
During the meeting held at the Parliament Secretariat, Speaker Qasim Ibrahim noted both countries are traditional partners that share a lot of common values and principles. Noting the people-to-people contact between the two countries, the ambassador expressed hope the relations would further enhance in the future.
This was the first meeting with the parliament speaker since Ambassador Sanjay Sudhir assumed office earlier this month.
