President meets senior police officers

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has met senior officers of Maldives Police Service.

At the meeting held at Iskandar Headquarters of Maldives Police Service, the president was accompanied by Minister of Home Affairs Imran Abdulla and the senior officers leading the departments in the institution. However, the police service did not publish any further details on the meeting.

The president has previously met with the police force on a number of occasions. During the meetings, he assured the administration would ensure the institution is free from political influence.

Since President Solih assumed office on November 17, 2018, the police service has seen numerous changes to further enhance the services provided by the institution, including the introduction of neighbourhood police and establishment of a method to report any cases of abuse from the police officers.
