The two candidates who withdrew their names are independent candidate, Zahid Rameez, who was to contest for Mid-Hithadhoo constituency, and Mohamed Ilham, candidate for Maldives Labour and Social Democratic Party (MLSDP), contesting for Gemanafushi constituency. Zahid said although he withdrew his name, he has not yet decided to support another candidate. However, Ilham said he withdrew the name to support Hussain Solih.
