ACC not investigating any cases related with Mahloof

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has confirmed it is not investigating any alleged corruption cases associated with Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment Ahmed Mahloof.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih ordered Youth Minister Mahloof to stay home until further notice, in the wake of the detailed investigation report published by ACC on the corruption scandal of Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC). In the report, ACC revealed SOF Private Limited, which received the largest amount of USD the 100 million scandal, deposited money to bank accounts of Youth Minister Mahloof. In this regard, ACC detailed Mahloof received USD 33,000 from SOF.

Meanwhile, in a statement issued following the report of ACC, Mahloof had said the deposit was made for currency exchange which involves nothing illegal. He further revealed he will resign from the post if he is found guilty of corruption allegations.
