Foreign Minister sends message on the occasion of Commonwealth Day

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulla Shahid has sent a message on the occasion of the Commonwealth Day, marked on the second Monday of March.

In his message, Minister Shahid said, the Maldives remembers the common values, principles, and firm conviction in the democratic practices espoused by the member states of the Commonwealth as signified in the Singapore Declaration, and the Harare Declaration.

The Minister adds that Maldives remains committed to rejoining the Commonwealth of Nations at the upcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, and looks forward to working closely with the Member States, and the Commonwealth Secretariat to fully realize the aspirations of the Maldivian people.
