Maldives Immigration has decided expatriates can change their employer, if required, without having to wait a year.
Maldives Immigration said previously, employees cannot change their employers before working one year in Maldives. Immigration stated the regulation caused many challenges to expatriates working in Maldives.
In this regard, Immigration revealed in efforts to ease the job process for expatriates, the authority has amended the regulation, so that from March 1 onwards, expatriates can change their jobs even before a year.
