Dhiraagu and Allied big winners at Gold 100 Gala

Corporate Maldives has concluded the third edition of Gold 100 Gala successfully with over 200 high level executives from leading companies in Maldives. The Corporate Maldives Gold 100 Gala was held at Paradise Island Resorts and Spa.

The Corporate Maldives Gold 100 Gala was attended by over 200 top level executives from leading companies of Maldives, along with VIP guests. Chief Guest of the ceremony, Chairman of Colombo Stock Exchange Ray Abeywardena greeted the distinguished gathering of businesspersons and industry giants of Maldives.

The Gold 100 Gala is the most prestigious and exclusive invite-only business networking event in the Maldives. The leading 100 companies awarded at the event were selected in consultation with Cosmos Investment Advisors, a leading investment advisory firm in the Maldives. The 100 companies were selected from among 13,500 companies registered in the country and were presented with special awards in recognition of their exemplary work and success.

The list is not a ranking of businesses, and as such is published in alphabetical order. The selection process was based on criteria ranging from scale of operation, success and innovativeness to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, and of course, compliance with Maldivian laws. The Gold 100 magazine will be distributed to all businesses in Maldives and also displayed at leading international trade fairs.

The third issue of Corporate Maldives Gold 100 magazine was unveiled at the event, launched by Deputy CEO of Bank of Maldives Mohamed Shareef and Chief Executive Officer of Maldives Getaways Dr. Hussain Sunny Umar. The magazine contains the listing of the leading businesses in the Maldives, the Gold 100, categorised by industry with company profiles and other up-to-date information.

The Maldives Investment Opportunities Guide was also launched at the gala, which is a collaborative effort by Corporate Maldives and Maldives Association of Finance Industry (MAFI) and will allow local businesses and investment opportunities to be listed to attract international investors to the economy of Maldives.

Launched at the Gold 100 Gala 2018, The Corporate Governance Award, which is an initiative of Capital Market Development Authority (CMDA), Maldives Stock Exchange (MSE) and Corporate Maldives, was also awarded for the first time at the Gala. The Award was presented in two categories and was given away by the Registrar of Companies Mariyam Visam. In this regard, the CG Efforts Award 2019 was awarded to Dhiraagu and the CG Efforts Award Private was awarded to Allied Insurance Company of the Maldives Private Limited.
