Vice Chancellor of Maldives National University (MNU) Dr. Fawaz Shareef has stated the comparison of tuition fees between private sector and government institutions will be narrow, following the introduction of Free Education Scheme for Degree Students.
Under the tuition free first degree education programme, the administration decided to pay tuition fees of students studying in private universities.
Speaking to PSM News, Vice Chancellor Fawaz Shareef said the decision of the administration will ease the financial burden of students seeking higher education. He noted providing free degree programmes shows the development of the country, adding it has developed the education sector by several steps.
Over 3,600 students will be participating in the degree programmes this year, according to MNU. The national university will commence its academic year next week.
