Articulating about climate change is not enough: Nasheed

Furthermore, the former president highlighted the efforts he exerted when he served as the president to bring climate change issues to global recognition. He expressed The UN Climate Talks have, for years, made slow progress, while global temperatures continue to soar and the world's weather patterns become increasingly dangerous and unpredictable.

The former President Nasheed initiated the workshop ten years after the underwater cabinet meeting, which captured headlines around the globe and highlighted the vulnerability of Maldives to systematic shifts and extreme weather events such as rising sea levels caused by climate change.

The workshop involves representatives from the President's Office, Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The workshop focus on topics including reforms to the UN Climate Talks, and whether small island countries can play a global role in helping to solve the unfolding climate crisis.
