Minister of Health Abdulla Ameen has met with five children leaving to India for bone marrow transplant.
The health minister met with the five children and their parents. During the meeting, the minister wished them to successfully complete the transplant. They would be performing the transplant from finances provided from the Zakath Fund. It costs about USD 65,000 for the procedure, according to the Ministry of Health.
There are about 900 Thalassemia patients registered in Maldives.
