President assures to work towards solving issues faced to Huraa

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has assured to work towards solving issues faced to Huraa in Kaafu Atoll with the assistance of relevant authorities. The president made the remarks at a meeting held with the island council members at the President’s Office.

During the meeting, the councillors informed the president on major issues faced for the residents in the island and provided information regarding the issues which need swift solutions. In this regard, the councillors highlighted issues faced by the island school and the council office due to lack of space. In addition, the councillors requested the president to work for a sustainable solution for the electricity issues faced.

Huraa is located near Male’ and is frequently visited by many people living in the Greater Male’ Region. However, the councillors noted the harbour issues in the island need to be solved at a fast pace.

Meanwhile, during the meeting, President Solih assured to discuss with the relevant authorities to identify solutions for the problems highlighted by the council members. He also stated development projects included in the state budget for the island will commence in the coming days.
