Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company Limited (MIFCO) has refuted rumours of food poisoning in Felivaru fish cannery.
In a statement, MIFCO reassured the public of cleanliness and hygiene arrangements practiced at Felivaru. MIFCO said while Felivaru is the largest food processing factory in Maldives, hygiene is ensured in accordance with international standards. MIFCO stated, therefore, food poisoning or any such situations are unlikely to take place in Felivaru.
Furthermore, MIFCO expressed the rumors spread are false.
However, Ministry of Health has revealed it is investigating the rumours.
