President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has announced resolve not to initiate construction of public buildings in Male' City.
Shedding light on the congestion of the capital in his presidential address, President Solih noted how congestion affects the quality of life of citizens. The president said substantial changes will be made to eradicate congestion in Male' and transform it into a peaceful and safe place for those who visit and reside in the city. In the regard, he said the administration has resolved not to initiate any new construction of public buildings in Male' and added selected sections of the city will be cleared where people of all ages may enjoy.
President Solih also noted introduction of environmentally friendly minibuses in Male' will help to overhaul the public transportation system in place and improve road safety for pedestrians.
