Acting Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed has revealed priority is given on developing police officers capable of serving in a democratic environment when formulating training programmes. The acting commissioner made the remarks at the Passing Out Parade of the 30th Police Recruit Training Course.
Addressing the ceremony, acting Police Commissioner Hameed expressed commitment to further develop training and education for police officers performing different roles along with the executive leadership. Noting the recruit training for officers is the first and foremost step in joining the police force, Hameed said it is important to utilise the learnings of the training in providing the services. Highlighting the police force works together and closer with the general public, Hameed further stated urging to respect individual rights and to always stay on alert even on off duty.
Meanwhile, Minister of Higher Education Dr. Ibrahim Hassan lauded the efforts of the police force in ensuring peace and harmony in the country. The minister also spoke on the importance of formulating training programmes based on improving skills of individual officers.
91 recruits passed the training programme held by Police Academy in Vaanee in Dhaalu Atoll The training programme consists of indoor classes and outdoor classes aiming to enhance the skills of police force. The training programme is a certificate level 4 course approved by Maldives Qualification Authority.
