Minister of Fisheries, Marine Resources and Agriculture Zaha Waheed has revealed efforts are underway to identify more markets to exports local fish products.
Fisheries Minister Zaha Waheed noted discussions are being held with new markets to promote local fish products to enhance the fisheries sector of the country. In this regard, Minister Zaha highlighted discussions have been held with China, Russia and the US. She added the exporting standards are different for each country, noting it is important to identify the differences between the standards when seeking new markets.
In efforts to enhance the fisheries sector of the country, the administration has been promoting Maldivian products to different markets and attending several fisheries related fairs.
