Ministry of Economic Development has formulated a committee to identify the issues and to reform the national tax system.
Speaking to PSM News, Minister of Economic Development Fayyaz Ismail noted the committee will identify the issues in implementing the tax-related laws and regulations. He said the committee will also note the amendments needed to reform the tax system in Maldives, adding the administration aims to establish a just and fair tax system in the country.
The committee will consist of government officials, private auditors and lawyers, according to the economic minister.
