Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has decided to increase the number of ferry trips in the morning following the beginning of the academic new year.
MTCC said students have faced difficulties as no ferries were scheduled in between 0600 hours and 0630 hours. An additional trip from Hulhumale' to Male' has been scheduled at 0615 hours on week days for the convenience of students travelling to school, according to MTCC.
Following the opening of Sina-Male' Bridge to traffic, the number of people using ferry services have decreased significantly, which forced MTCC to reduce its operations.
