Environment Ministry hands over glass bottles to Male' City Council

Ministry of Environment hands over glass bottles to Male' City Council as part of the national campaign against single-use plastic.

Environment ministry gifted city council about 100 glass bottles. The bottles were handed over to Male' City Mayor Shifa Mohamed by Minister of Environment Dr. Hussain Rasheed.

Addressing the ceremony, the minister said the environment in its best form can be delivered to the future generations if the use of plastic is limited or banned.

Speaking at the ceremony, the mayor noted the efforts are exerted by the government to minimize the use of plastics and revealed plans to introduce a programme next year to limit or ban plastics.

Minimising the use of single-use plastic is a pledge of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
