Minister of Tourism Ali Waheed has revealed efforts to formulate a tourism master plan will commence before the end of the first 100 days of the administration.
The tourism minister made the remarks at a press conference held during the Maldives Guesthouse Symposium 2018 which commenced in Dharubaaruge convention centre in Male' City.
Speaking at the ceremony held to inaugurate the guest house symposium, Minister Ali Waheed said efforts are underway to make the necessary changes to the tourism sector as part of the 100 day pledge policy of the administration.
Moreover, Minister stated various discussions were held during the symposium which included discussions regarding the master plan. He added the submissions during the symposium will be included in the master plan.
The symposium is held to provide the personnel in tourism sector as well as guest house business a platform to meet and discuss issues of mutual concern, according to tourism ministry.
The theme of the guest house symposium is Towards Sustainable Tourism.
