Ministry of Education has sought interested entities to provide breakfast for students as part of the pilot project initiated by the government.
While the pilot project to provide breakfast for students is scheduled to begin in the academic year 2019, the education ministry has opened a bidding opportunity for interested service providers. The programme will be initially launched in 3 schools in Male', 1 school in Hulhumale' and 1 school in Villimale', along with a school from each atoll.
Opportunity is opened for 4 service providers from Male' area and 18 service providers in the atolls, according to the ministry. Furthermore, the education ministry said it requires separate bids for each school. The ministry also stated school committees will be tasked with selecting a service provider after following up on hygiene and freshness of the breakfast.
Providing breakfast for students is one of the first 100-day goals of the administration.
