NDMC begins distributing funds for households affected by heaving flooding

National Disaster Management Centre (NDMC) has begun distribution of funds for the households affected by the heaving flooding in Male’ City on December 5.

Speaking in a press conference, the media official of NMDC, Hisaan Hassan, after completing the assessment damages sustained from the flooding, the government has decided to allocate funds for 127 households in the capital city. The media official said the funds are released according to the relief guideline followed by the centre.

Over 200 households were assessed, although, 127 households are to be given funds for the damages, according to NDMC. The centre revealed the house with the most damages would be granted about USD 3,000, noting the amount released as funds would substantially vary in accordance with the damages.

NDMC collected over USD 84,000 as relief aid to assist the families affected by the flooding.
