Ministry of Tourism has scheduled Guest Houses Symposium for December 29.
With the objective of finding out challenges faced by guest house operators across the country, participation for the symposium has been opened for all guest house operators in Maldives. Minister of Tourism Ali Waheed made the announcement during an official trip to Rasdhoo in Alifu Alifu Atoll.
Minister Ali Waheed said in addition to finding out challenges faced by guest house operators, the symposium has the objective to seek ways to overcome those challenges. It includes seeking ways through which regulations related to tourism can be shaped to better facilitate guest house tourism, according to the tourism minister. He also stressed on the government's policy to decentralize tourism empowerment including the allocation of certain relevant powers to local councils.
Holding a nationwide Guest Houses Symposium is among the targets, the current administration has set for the first 100 days of the government.
