Maldives discuss with India to develop health sector

Maldives has held discussions with India to further develop the health sector. The discussions were held on the side-lines of the Partners' Forum 2018 held in New Delhi, India.

During the meeting held by Minister of Health Abdulla Ameen and Minister of Health and Family Welfare of India Jagat Prakash Nadda, discussions were held regarding the agreements made between both countries related to the health sector. Further discussions were held on enhancing the health sector, increasing the capacity of Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) and establishing a Regional Cancer Centre (RCC).

Moreover, Minister Ameen attended various discussions held within and in the side-lines of the Partners' Forum. In addition, he attended the ministerial meeting and spoke on the importance of shaping health related issues to women, children and elderly persons to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
