Environment Protection Agency (EPA) has decided to publish names of individuals illegally dumping waste.
Speaking on a programme aired on PSM News, Director General of EPA Ibrahim Naeem revealed efforts are now underway to identify people who illegally dump waste. Noting Maldives Police Service is currently exerting efforts to stop dumping waste on roads and public spaces, Naeem said EPA will practically participate in cleaning the roads in the coming days. In this regard, he stated the agency has decided to publish the names of those dumping waste on roads and to set cameras on multiple areas to identify people and areas where waste is dumped.
Moreover, Naeem said EPA has also decided to take action against such people who continue to dump waste continuously.
