Minister of Tourism Ali Waheed has revealed the promotional budget for Ministry of Tourism has been tripled to further enhance the tourism sector.
Speaking to media for the first time since appointed as the tourism minister, Ali Waheed said the budget was increased to promote Maldives in new destinations, adding the government aims to participate in more promotional fairs in the coming days. Highlighting the highest income for the country is generated by the tourism industry, Minister Ali Waheed assured no illegal activities or anything outside of law will be conducted during his tenure.
The minister added the efforts of the tourism ministry will be conducted transparently and openly. He further noted the policy of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih is to provide the benefit of all sectors alike to all citizens.
Furthermore, during the press conference, the tourism ministry revealed the government aims to increase job opportunities in the tourism sector.
