Vice President officially launches Manta Air

Vice President of Maldives Faisal Naseem has officially inaugurated Manta air.

Even though Manta Air has been launched, official operations are scheduled to begin in December. Manta Air has already brought one aircraft to Maldives, while a second aircraft is set to arrive during mid-December.

Speaking at the ceremony held to inaugurate the Manta Air brand, CEO of Manta Air Mohamed Khaleel said the new introduction to domestic air transportation will enhance the aviation sector in Maldives. Noting the domestic air transportation will achieve new goals in the future with the assistance of the new airline, Khaleel stated 80% of the staff employed by Manta Air are local staff. He revealed even though the local aviation sector has enhanced in the past couple of years, tourists still face challenges in arriving to their destinations, adding the challenges can be minimised by working in a competitive spirit.

Moreover, during the ceremony, the uniforms of the staff were also launched. In addition, Manta Air appointed singers Mariyam Maeesha and Ali Arushad as its ambassadors.

Manta Air is the third airline to operate domestically in Maldives.
