7.3% increase in tourist arrivals on October

Tourist arrivals to Maldives has increased 7.3% in October this year compared to the same period of last year.

So far 1,277,852 tourists arrived to Maldives this year which is an increase of 7.3% compared to the same period of last year, according to latest statistics publications of Ministry of Tourism. 127,393 tourists arrived to Maldives in October, according to the tourism ministry.

Moreover, up to October most number of tourists arrived to Maldives from Europe with 48% of total arrivals while 42.9% of the total arrivals are from Asia Pacific.

In terms of separate markets, most number of tourists arrived from China, Germany, UK, Italy and India.
