Parliamentarians Mubeen and Ahmed Rasheed sign as members of JP

Parliamentarians Ahmed Mubeen and Ahmed Rasheed have signed as members of Jumhooree Party. The two members of parliament signed and handed over the membership form to the Leader of Jumhooree Party Qasim Ibrahim at a ceremony held at the main party headquarter.

The parliamentarians previously represented the ruling Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM). In this regard, Mubeen was elected to the parliament on a Jumhooree Party in 2014. However, he later joined the ruling party. Meanwhile, Ahmed Rasheed was elected to the parliament on a PPM ticket. Previously, Parliamentarian Hussain Shahudhee also signed for Jumhooree Party.

The three parliamentarians signed for Jumhooree Party following the defeat of PPM in the presidential election. Jumhooree Party is a coalition partner of the incoming government.
