Minister of Defence and National Security Adam Shareef has revealed the 3-storey building in Aarah was constructed by military personnel as part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF). The defence minister made the remarks following the circulation of a photo said to be a house built for the president.
Addressing a press conference held to reveal information about important projects conducted by Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) in the past five years, Defence Minister Adam Shareef said Aarah is a special island for the president, adding the 3-storey building was constructed upon an order from the President’s Office.
Aarah is an island near the capital for the president to spend weekends and public holidays. The island is monitored by MNDF.
