Former President Mohamed Nasheed has assured the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) and its coalition partners are working towards ensuring the citizens lead a safe and a comfortable life.
Addressing the citizens in Dhidhdhoo after inaugurating a park in harbour area, the former president noted President-Elect Mohamed Ibrahim Solih will provide the development the citizens’ wishes in the next five years. He commended the efforts of the citizens, especially in the northern atolls, to elect Mohamed Ibrahim Solih to office and expressed confidence the coalition government would provide the needs of the people.
Continuing on, the former president criticised the efforts of wealthy businessmen to influence the courts of law. Nasheed said the first step of reforming the judiciary is to stop these businessmen from influencing the judges for their benefit.
Former President Nasheed is currently in Dhidhdhoo in Haa Alifu Atoll. Previously, he had visited Addu and met with thousands of his supporters and opened an office in the city.
