Former President Nasheed concludes visit to Saudi Arabia, returns to London

Former President Mohamed Nasheed has concluded his visit to Saudi Arabia. The former president was accompanied by Ahmed Naseem, who served as his foreign minister from March 21, 2011 until his resignation on February 7, 2012.

Although the areas of discussions were not made public, in a tweet, the former president revealed talks were not held regarding the current government of Maldives or President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom. Nasheed said during the talks, Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammad Bin Salman Al-Saud noted the government of Saudi Arabia will always enhance ties with the administration and will support the president of Maldives.

This is the first time Nasheed had visited Saudi Arabia since leaving office on February 7, 2012. Upon conclusion of his visit to Saudi Arabia, the former president has returned back to London.
