Maldives Association for Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) has decided to hold Maldives Travel Awards (MTA) gala night next month.
MATATO said judging is underway and voting is open until October 25. Over 250 competitors are competing for 27 awards this year, according to MATATO.
In September, MATATO held the Guest House Edition of MTA 2018. There were over 120 nominations for the Guest House Edition this year while the awards were reviewed by Trip Advisor.
MATATO noted MTA intends to encourage and stimulate professionalism in the travel industry and the national and international tourism by creating an annual event, unique to the destination.
