Seas are expected to be moderate to rough in northern atolls and generally rough over rest of the country.
Meanwhile, Maldives Police Service has urged caution, especially when travelling by sea. Police called on travellers to strictly adhere to laws and regulations formulated for the safety of sea travellers and ascertain safety measures have been taken. Police especially urged not to overload vessels and to keep safety equipment at hand during travelling. It has also been advised to take precautionary measures when docking vessels, as vessels too could be subjected to damage during unexpected changes in currents and waves. Vessels are also instructed to share details about travels with the Coast Guard and the police.
Moreover, police also urged vehicles to practice caution when driving on wet roads and advised care when handling umbrellas on the Male' Ring Road and Sina-Male' Bridge.
