MDP expresses concern over rumours of destroying government documents

Newly appointed spokesperson of President-Elect Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, Parliamentarian Mariya Ahmed Didi, has expressed concern over rumours that some government authorities are destroying documents during the interim period.

During a press conference, Mariya Ahmed Didi stated reports have been received that some government authorities are destroying documents and noted action will be taken against responsible individuals after an investigation. She further noted the opposition coalition led by Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has requested acting Commissioner of Police Abdulla Nawaz to investigate the rumours.

Meanwhile, refuting the rumours, Spokesperson of President's Office Ibrahim Muaz Ali said no such acts are being conducted within the government.
