Police thanks public for cooperation on voting day

Maldives Police Service has stated the presidential election was conducted calmly and peacefully.

In a tweet posted regarding Operation Blue Wave initiated to ensure security in the election, the police service revealed the electoral process was concluded peacefully. Moreover, the police advised to conduct celebratory activities responsibly within the guidelines set in the law. The police force thanked the public for the cooperation throughout the voting process.

Presidential Candidate of Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) Ibrahim Mohamed Solih won an overwhelming majority by receiving 134,616 votes from the total 238,877 votes cast.
