Japanese government donates medical equipment to Maldives

The government of Japan has donated medical equipment to the Maldives. The medical equipment worth over USD 2.5 million were donated by the Japanese government at a meeting held in Ministry of Health of Maldives.

The relevant documents were signed by Counsellor at Embassy of Japan Abe Masamichi and Deputy Minister at Ministry of Health Dr. Mohamed Shaafiee Abdul Munim. The equipment, scheduled to be delivered to Maldives in 2019, is planned to be distributed to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) and health facilities in the atolls.

In 2014, medical equipment worth over USD 1.5 million were donated by the Japanese government, as part of the efforts to enhance the health sector of Maldives.
