First Lady of Maldives Fathimath Ibrahim has concluded her visit to Laamu Atoll. The nationwide social campaign initiated by the first lady is aimed to closely monitor the lives of people with special needs and the elderly citizens and to ensure their basic needs are fulfilled. First lady was warmly welcomed by all islands.
During the trip, the first lady visited Isdhoo, Kalaidhoo, Maavah, Dhanbidhoo, Kunahandhoo and Mundoo in Laamu Atoll. As part of her visit to the islands, she met the elderly citizens, people with special needs and the citizens of all islands.
The first lady was accompanied by the Minister of Economic Development Mohamed Saeed, Deputy Parliament Speaker Moosa Manik, parliamentarians, and government officials. The economic minister revealed the plans of President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom for the development of Laamu Atoll if he is given a second term in office.
