Acting Managing Director of Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), Haris Mohamed has stated tourism promotion efforts will be increased upon completion of the mega development project of Velana International Airport (VIA).
Maldives will welcome 7.5 million tourists when the airport development concludes which will be followed by many tourism promotional activities, Haris Mohamed said speaking to media following the arrival of the 1 millionth tourist of the year.
Moreover, Haris highlighted the efforts exerted by MMPRC to promote Maldives as a tourist destination adding MMPPRC will participate in an international event remaining each month of this year.
Haris also noted with the new runway development, ticket prices will see a decrease.
