Island Aviation Services Limited has commences city check-in services from Greater Male' Industrial Transport Link. The national airline operating company, Island Aviation has set up two check-in counters to provide city check-in services.
Passengers travelling on domestic and international flights can now check-in from the counters in Greater Male' Industrial Transport Link, Head of Facilities of Island Aviation Ali Nashath Hameed stated speaking regarding the new services. In this regard, Nashath revealed passengers traveling on all Maldivian flights from Velana International Airport can check-in their luggage 4 hours prior to scheduled departure time and collect their boarding passes from the city check-in location. He stated the service will be closed 90 minutes prior to the departure time.
In addition, Nashath stated the luggage will then be carried by airline buses to VIA, which will ease the luggage handling by passengers. Furthermore, Nashath said the city check-in services be further be enhanced, even though the services were commenced with just two counters. In this regard, Nashath added discussions are underway with Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) to increase the number of buses travelling to Hulhule'.
Moreover, he noted Island Aviation has taken a step forward with the introduction of the new services and advised all passengers to be alert of bus timings from Male' to Hulhule'.
