Maldives Police Service has begun a special operation to maintain peace and stability in the country during the presidential election. Operation Blue Wave 2018 was officially launched at a commanders meeting held at Iskandar Building.
Speaking after inaugurating the operation, acting Commissioner of Police Abdulla Nawaz asked all commanders to exert collective efforts to ensure the operation is successful, adding a vital role in the police operation to maintain peace and stability in the country are played by the commanders. Noting some changes will be brought to the police operation with the commencement of the Operation Blue Wave, Nawaz urged to work with mutual goals despite the challenges in operation.
During the meeting, Nawaz revealed information about individual roles and departments, in addition to the process of the full scale exercise prior to the election which will be held on September 23.
