No new development project pledged by opposition: Environment Minister

Minister of Environment and Energy Thoriq Ibrahim has revealed there is no development left to be brought to Maldives by the opposition coalition.
The opposition candidate has been pledging to conduct development projects which has already been announced or initiated by the government, Environment Minister Thoriq noted speaking at a gathering held at a campaign quarter of Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM).
Moreover, the environment minister criticised opposition leaders who have neglected social and economic development of the country in the past. In this regard, the minister noted an acceptable amount of development was not brought to the country within the 30 year rule of former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, adding former President Mohamed Nasheed was more interested in the sale of state assets rather than developing the country.
At the gathering attended by a numerous number of supporters of the ruling party, the minister widely noted the manifesto of PPM and the plans for development pledged by the administration for its second term in office.
