Government assists Maldivian families affected by Kerala flood

The government of Maldives has revealed assistance is provided for Maldivians affected by the floods in the Indian state of Kerala. 52 stranded Maldivians have been safely transported from Cochin to Trivandrum via bus, with another 27 on the way, according to Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Maldives.
Maldives Consulate in Trivandrum said it is tirelessly working to facilitate the stay of Maldivians in Trivandrum and arrange early return to Maldives, in close coordination with Maldivian and Sri Lankan Airlines.
Due to current flooding situation resulting from heavy rain in India, Cochin Airport will remain closed until August 26.
