Resource utilisation is key to achieve economic development goals: President

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has stated resource utilisation is the key to achieve the economic development goals of the country.
The administration prioritises the needs of people and will continue to fulfill the demands, through innovative utilisation of the resources available in the country; President Yameen noted addressing the ceremony held to mark the completion of beach protection project in Veymandoo in Thaa Atoll.
Speaking in this regard, the president noted the importance of empowering state companies and highlighted the high number of job opportunities offered by the government. Continuing on, President Yameen briefed the public on his electoral pledge of raising the retirement age, stating 65 years old individuals should have the opportunity to continue serving the country without having to retire. Similarly, the president noted individuals who wish to retire after the age of 65 will have the option as well, according to the existing retirement and pension procedure.
In his speech, the president also highlighted the future development plans and noted the public wishes for needs to be fulfilled and difficulties to be eased. He also conveyed his confidence the people would put forth peace and harmony in working towards achieving progress.
During the ceremony, President Yameen unveiled the monument placed to mark the completion of beach protection project in Veymandoo.
