Running mate of Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has revealed plans of President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom to construct an Islamic centre in Fuvahmulah City.
The construction of an Islamic centre will make Fuvahmulah the main hub in the region to receive Islamic education, Shaheem said addressing the ceremony held to inaugurate a PPM Office in Fuvahmulah, as part of his current trip to the city.
Speaking with PSM News after the ceremony, Shaheem expressed the Islamic centre is an important step towards enhancing the Islamic education in the region.
