President Yameen Abdul Gayoom has declared August 19 as a public holiday, in the event the first day of Hajj falls on August 12.
The President's decision was made in order to give maximum days for the public to enjoy the Eid holidays and festivities.
Following the Eid holidays, the government offices will reopen on August 26.
