Minister of Home Affairs Azleen Ahmed has said opposition talks about abolishing Maldives National Defence Security (MNDF) to destabilise and endanger the independence of the country.
Opposition plans to abolish MNDF to hand over the security of the country to their desired foreign parties, Home Minister Azleen stated at a ceremony held to inaugurate a campaign quarter of Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM). The minister said if the plan of the opposition work and if they come to power, Maldives will once again experience chaos and uncertainty.
Furthermore, citing the presidential manifesto of the opposition, the home minister stated the pledges of the opposition will disrupt the social and economic development achieved in the past four years. He noted the policies put forward by the opposition will bring a devastating loss to Maldives urging public to make a firm decision on voting day to safeguard the sovereignty of the country.
