Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has officially inaugurated Port Hiya Residence Initiation, as part of the social housing scheme of the government.
The Port Hiya Residence Initiation was officially inaugurated by Minister of Economic Development Mohamed Saeed at a ceremony held at the North Port. The applications for the housing units developed, as part of the Port Hiya Residence Initiation, can be submitted until August 31, according to MPL.
The highest priority is always given to the affordability of the housing units, CEO of MPL Ibrahim Abdul Razzaq Haleem said speaking at the ceremony. Easier arrangements will be made in making payments for the employees, assured Ibrahim Abdul Razzaq Haleem.
Three 14-storey towers will be built as part of the first phase of the project, which will include 204 one-room apartments and 330 three-room apartments. With the launch of Port Hiya Residence Initiation, MPL expects to provide affordable and comfortable housing units for over 3,000 employees.
MPL aims to complete the first phase of the project by the end of the year, while the whole project is expected to be completed by the end of next year.
